Buy razor
« Thread started on: Oct 23rd, 2009, 4:21pm » |

After variuos hair trimmer bought during the years with poors results (if it has the battery it runs down fastly, if it has the wire is difficult to use beacuse it always wrap, they easily break at the first fall, after a few months they cut less, you can't find the spare parts ecc), I have decided to buy one that can last some years without these problems. Easy to say but which is this electric razor? Or which is the best and the best brand? If someone of you has a suggestion I would be very grateful. Thank you

Braun, panasonic and Philips as well as Remington are all popular brands and are discussed often in this forum. The question, "what is the best" really cannot be answered by me or for that matter anyone. One must read and try. Good luck and welcome.

I will second what was said about our not being able to tell you which is best. BUT, it might be possible for us to guide you in the right direction.
You said that you have used many devices in the past, and have been dissatisfied with them because of mechanical breakage or poor parts availability.
This implies to me that you were happy with at least 1 or 2 of the devices...possibly before they broke?
Please describe the ones which worked well for you. What type of shavers made you happy?
This would give us a starting point.

I totally agree with both posts. Most of us find what is best for us by trial and error. We are all different with different beards. That is why there are both rotary and foil shavers. What works for one often doesn't work for another. But like Chuck said, a good place to start is with what worked for you in the past. There will probably be a big difference in needed repairs between what may have been and now is, at least for Panasonic and Philips/Norelco shavers.
We are all here to help you, but shaving is a very individual and personal pursuit. No two beards are the same, but at least we may be able to point you in the direction that appears to be best for you.
Welcome aboard and looking forward to hearing about, and giving input on your quest for what shaver to purchase.

Don't be afraid to take advantage of return policies. I used to wouldn't return anything. Met my wife and she'll return a stick of gum if it isn't sweet enough. I guess it's rubbed off. I've returned two shavers now.

Absolutely. That's the beauty of return policies. They help to ensure you end up with the right shaver.
